Bomber defence guns

They used to be enabled on the ground, you could also drop your bombs while sitting on the runway as well.

naw they you will have lots of buffs sitting on runway, blasting away then getting sucessfull landing when somebody dives in for the kill.  bombs can still drop whil sitting on runway.  I ditch my bombs sometimes just to go fighter hunting in my b26.

Although as I suspect the allure of vulching is sooooo strong with most that to possibly interfere with the easy "wtg kill counts" by dropping the bomber hangars is just not fun.


I think the idea is awesome and would finally force a "FULL" commitment to taking a base, ie: drop all the hangars :aok

The "tag along" cherry pickers would have to wait or go away :t  and that could only improve the game

I think that if the plane is in motion guns should be enabled if it stops then so do the guns.

how hard is it to vulch a bomber vs a fighter. I dont think Itll hurt anything,
and Id rather dive ona bomber than any and all wirbs/osties.

+1 there should be no reason bombers guns cant fire on the ground.... thats like saying fighters guns shouldent shoot below 100 ft the fact you have to wait untill your in the air which can take 20-40 secounds in some bombers is offten to long espcially when your being vulched....

and yes there was bombers used as AAAD or AAA or AA or w/e term you wanna use(just not on the ground)

we had bombers that could fire on the ground in FA and it made taking the last few bases tough.
imagine most of your bases are taken or crippled and the only thing left to do is sit on runway blastin away with your AA platform.
was always a blast to drop bombs on spawn with a twenty second delay for the the guy's that would exit in and out :devil

+1 Even if stationary.  That's real.

When Pearl Harbor was hit one of the first places they went for was the PBY base.  Crew members manned the guns on the PBY's that were parked on the ramp.

all this would do is act as a deterrent to those that would vulch a bomber group on the runway. Besides if anyone does do this, just treat them like any other GV, drop a bomb on there heads    :devil

So bombers at a fighter disabled field are supposed to up to kill the enemy? (And the vulchers) By that time somebody would come kill them and wait for more uppers. I barely got up in a B-25H before a P-51D saddled up on my tail. SBDs sometime fired there guns before taking off from the carrier. (When enemy is around)

I can take your wings off rolling on the ground in a 110, but if im in a bomber it can't happen.
