A duel of any size would probably start with several P-38's doing doughnuts on the runway trying to get the #2 engine started followed by suddenly taking off in several directions all at once, those that were lucky enough to miss field obstructions would head to the pre-determined altitude while forgetting to drop DT's.  Once icon range was reached all planes will dive to try and achieve the lower position at the merge, overspeed and auger.

You forgot the high probability of at least half of the SAPP 38s won't fire up due to either lack of parts or broken equipment.

80th would win, hands down.  Or I would at least.  I am a superb fighter pilot, I could take on anyone in the game, in any combination, at once.  AoM would be easy.
