How to tell a hanger is about to pop
« on: July 09, 2011, 10:05:08 AM »
What are the stages that a hanger or other object goes through before it is fully repaired?  When a hanger is destroyed, it is on fire.  What does it look like just before it is fully repaired, and what are the stages it goes through?
 :headscratch:

I keep looking for the little men repairing the hangers, but I can't see any, so there must be some other clue.  :lol

Once the smoke disappears, there's approx 5 minutes left before it pops.

If you take it down  or see it go down,, set a timer for 15 minutes   that's how long it stays down!
Flying since tour 71.

15 Minutes Total, Exactly.

it will smoke for 10 minutes, then just burn without smoke for 5 minutes.
Sometimes they neither smoke or burn but they still come back after exactly 15 minutes.

If you're a Rook or a Knight, you can use an M3 or a 251 with field supplies to make it come back faster but you need to drive the supplies to the enemy GV spawn before releasing them.  The game will automatically send you back to the tower once the supplies take effect but there is a bug that will tell you that someone killed you, but this is just a bug and should be ignored.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

resupply does NOT bring the hangers up quicker. They are down 15 minutes each. If the first hanger is taken down, then 5 minutes later the others are taken down then the fighters will only be down for ten minutes as the first hanger will repair in ten more minutes (the other 5 minutes being before they took the rest down). Thats why it's important to take ALL the hangers down about the same time.

I agree with the Fug here when he says that it's important to take them all down at nearly the same time.  Since hangers are all or nothing, many well intentioned players will drop one and hope that others follow suit.
What really happens is that later on, guys will show up in a group to take them all down but since one is out of sync and has already been down for 10 minutes.  Once the other's get dropped in rapid succession, the first to go down has just stopped smoking and instead of disabling something for 15 minutes, they're disabled for a much shorter period of time.

As far as resupplying hangers My opinion stands although it's unfair for this to not work on Bishop fields.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Also please notice that this is a complete fabrication of BS !!!  that vWNTRGRN / Rob52240  has posted......... this crap falls in line with those people who tell you to "Alt F4" to get extra ammo or to open your parachute or whatever......  I guess some need to joke around no matter what forum they are posting in........

hope this helps

I would suggest that the 10 minute smoke and 5 minute no smoke is not a hard figure but a function/ratio of the total down time set in the Objects setting...

Have not tested it, but if the down time was 30...it might smoke for 20 and pop 10 later

Just a hunch

That's what I was looking for.  Thanks.

Hangers only stay down for 15 minutes, not 30.

I'll trust reality and my 15 minute timer over that chart any day.

My guess is that clipboard is showing the arena settings for offline - where you can actually get to the arena settings and set them to whatever you want.  ;)
