question about the suplytruck convoi
« on: July 12, 2011, 03:56:43 AM »
hello

i have a question about the suply truck convoy.
it is moving every 15mins to suply the filds.
if all acks, ammonition, troops and radar is down at one fild, is it posible to keep it down if every supply truck convoy is killed?

Yes, if no convoys (or barges) reach the field, nothing will rebuild.

I think I read something not too long ago about if you don't kill *all* the trucks and 1 gets past, it will regen the whole convoy down the road a ways.

I can't vouch for the validity of the statement, so ask around...

Chris, are you in Northern Germany?  I spent some time in Lubeck and recognize "moin" as a greeting that is sort of unique to the region, I think?

The repairable OBJ (radar, ord, fuel, barracks, auto-ack) on a field will stay down 2 hours if the supply truck convoy is completely destroyed when it spawns every 15 minutes.  The timing is not absolute either, I dont believe.  The convoy spawns every 15 mins regardless of damage or not.  So if the destruction of the OBJ took place at the 12 minute mark within the 15 minute spawn cycle time, then the timing is 12 minutes in favor of the field (convoy is only 3 min out w/ first set of repairs).  If the destruction of the OBJ took place at the 4 minute mark, then the rapairs are 11 minutes out.

It is a roll of the dice as to which truck is which, but I believe each truck has different cargo reprenting the different repairable OBJ on a field. How many trucks are there? I forgot.  If there are 5 trucks, then it makes sense that each truck represents each of the repairable items on a field.  Remember that hangers and manned guns are NOT repairbale, they "rebuild" every 15 minutes regardless.

When you destory a truck, regardles of where it is at on the route, it does NOT reappear.  A new and complete convoy will respawn.  It is a 15 minute cycle.

Trucks seem to work fine but the trains do respawn wholly intact with all cars further up the tracks unless you destroy every single car.

It's very hard to kill them all unless you use the m4 rockets.

From what I remember (and it has been a long time) the amount of ord required to destroy a convoy is too high. In addition, the speeds and 90 degree hair-pin turns the convoys are able to perform need to be adjusted (I know it is a map design issue). Also, it would be really nice if it was lowered a bit and the effects of destroying a convoy publicized, it would not only give players more targets but broaden the strategic game-play a little.

Can you imagine 2 ship formations of Mossies on the deck looking to interdict supply convoys, routinely? I'd probably get bored after a little while, but I can see the 'war winning' crowd may really enjoy denying resupply (ie troops) to the entire front.

The M4's rockets can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.

With them, it's easy to get the entire convoy but not much else can in game.
