NEED HELP

Hello guys, i have a question about my joystick and one about the voice.
First the joystick. I have a saitek x52pro (3 years old), never had a problem until few weeks ago. Well, to make it short i opend it (the bottom of the stick) and i found 3 wires more or less cutted over. Did anybody had the same problem and if yes what did yuo do? Is there a way to repair them? I haven't the money to buy a new stick right now  :(


Second is my voice. I can hear but i can't talk. Well, the head phones worked fine for a period, but after one of the new update (don't remember which the stopped working). Now the  voice works only if i go in Window Start menu - Control Panel - Sound and Audio Devices -Voice and Test Hardware and do the test (and leave it open while i play). If i close the test down, the voice stops working, and i do cause i hear my self talking and it drives me crazy  :lol (can't understand how ppl could stand hear me). Any suggestions?

Just a thought on your headset here are a couple of things to try (going along with the stick you have)

1. Try updating the drivers, I think these are the most recent http://support.creative.com/Downloads/welcome.aspx

2. Try uninstalling the headset, delete the drivers and reinstall everything.

3. Try using a self powered USB hub and see if that works.

See if that helps out.

Double click your speaker icon in the task bar (XP), or open your sound control panel and find the Advanced button.

The options menu accesses these settings you see here.

Your computer has 3 (count em, three!!) active sound devices.

You need to make sure the game is using the correct sound devices for all its sound functions (see Options->Preferences->Game Sounds).

Thanks Skuzzy, i think that was the problem. Went imto game sounds, changed something and now the mic works.  :) I'm sorry to bother you guys with this, probably "stupid" questions, but i Do am a computer illiterate or as my daughter says (when it comes to computer) i'm a retarded.
Now another question, is it bad to have 3 sound devices? And if yes, what should i do?

The best thing you need to do is to disable the sound devises that you wont be using. Best option.

disable the onboard sound in bios (sound max digital audio).  you dont need it since you have a sound card,  the other is your headset.  after you disable the onboard audio then set up your mike again.

If you chose to disable the onboard sound chip, in the system BIOS, be sure to remove the drivers BEFORE you shutdown the computer to disable the sound chip.

Thanks again guys. But as i said i'm a computer illiterate, you write about revoming the drivers well i have no idea where to find those drivers same thing about BIOS. I have heard of it (had a idea that had something to do with a "blue screen"  :) ), i google it but more than that i don't know. As i said the mic is working at the moment so i'm ok.
