Custom DA skins

Simple wish:
Since skins hold no real purpose in the DA historically, could we have the ability to use custom skins in there?

I thought the rule was no custom skins ? Seems like that would answer that question.

Tyrannis for others to see your skin, even in the DA, they have to have a local copy of your skin too. I'm not sure I want my partition filling up with black Spitfire Mark XVIs with red and yellow flaming nose paintjobs, P-38s with Skulls and crossbones painted over the entire top surface and P-51Ds painted like X-Wing fighters etc to be taking up my limited storage space.

Besides, anything which distracts HTC from working on the new Westland Whirlwind is for me an automatic -1. 

Go and buy an old car and teach yourself how to paint :neener:

Well thats not really what i had in mind.  :lol

And i wouldnt really care if others couldnt see the paintjob, i'd only care about having it on my plane to look at while shooting others down. It can just show up as the default skin to others.

I tried to alter one of the default skins once for just such an effect but it wouldn't load it. You can't have people putting images of naked ladies and skulls on their aeroplanes Tyrannis, that would be obscene. Memes actually did make a P-51D with an X-Wing skin, apparently they work offline.
