 :headscratch:

I can't pin what it was at the moment, but you posted a well thought out idea
and it ended up being implemented. I believe it was the offhours arena, IIRC.

Then later as general consensus ended up saying there weren't enough players,
HTC more or less agreed and now we have our current single arena.

I'm not saying they were bribed or negotiated into the position, I'm saying that
what the players think somewhat matters to HTC.

If it's a good idea, and he likes it, he may use it.  However the idea that we could negotiate to "meet in the middle" with HTC is kind of funny to me.  He's the boss.

I'm certain that Hitech is a sensible enough man to make a decision and adjust if necessary.

Think back to the towns, when he added the flags. 50% and everyone thought it was too easy,
he later adjusted it to a higher percentage.

What the hell is an 8 hour time limit going to do for me? Who plays the damn game for 8 hours straight?

A yes, but that was in no way any kind of negotiation. It was just a proposed changed change in the caps/arena setup after 4(!) years of operation. Just saying :)

How's this for a compromise?  Twelve seconds instead of twelve hours.

I think that's fair.

In a nutshell this 12 hour thing is "you can change sides once a day" for most players 8 hours would equate to the same thing.

I agree, that doesn't mean it was a negotiation.  I may be arguing semantics here, but you seems pretty hard-set on the "compromise" behind this idea.  If HTC decides it doesn't work, he'll change it, I think all the fuss on the BBS about it has a very small effect on his decision though.

HOSS...he announced that the other day in the MA...he said he'd been online all day and it was 4PM.  He loved it that I asked him "Really? Why?"  I believe he called me an idiot...but I can't be sure because I was laughing so hard I coughed up my pancreas.

Changing to 8 hours would be the difference between hopping on in the morning,
changing sides for a good quick fight, and coming back later in the evening after
work and being able to switch back and play with whoever.

At 12 hours, it's a rather obnoxious wait. Changing down to 8 would make quite
the difference for me and perhaps even others.

Even six hours, in many cases excluding the weekend, would only allow one side switch per night. Folks get home from work, school, etc and spend a few hours in game then go to bed. The time from when I get home from work and go to bed every night is roughly 5 hours. I think 2 hours is a better compromise.

HTC wants 12 hours, or, what is best for us in his/their minds.

The majority (from what I've observed) wants 1 hour.

Now, the logical compromise would be to change it to 6 hours, the best of both worlds, however.
HTC may not like this, so I propose the limit be changed to 8 hours, in HTC's favor, not popular with
the community, but still not as drastic of a change.

Can both sides agree on this?

so perhaps 20 or 30 said they didn't like it since when is this a majority?
