Any beretta owners?
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:33:59 PM »
Thinking of buying a new beretta 471EL silver hawk side by side. Anyone here shot one/know of a friend who has one? Being a British shooter, autos are just not acceptable for a game day and I do detest over/unders. This gun caught my eye and the colour hardened/gold inlaid one with gold double trigger certaily caught my eye! Anyone have any experience with beretta side by sides?

Dont own any Beretta sxs, but have a couple of O/Us that i love. One is a hunting gun (686 onyx) the other is a sporting clays gun (687 Silver Pigeon). They fit me like a glove, and operate flawlessly.

Oh, i forgot, I have a couple of Parker SXS shotguns that i love. If your not stuck on Beretta check them out.Kreighoff also makes some really nice SXS shotguns. I work(ed) part time at a local gunshop that a friend of mine owns and interact with alot of shotgunners, trap and sporting clay types. Ill put the word out that im looking for any feedback on the model your looking for and get back to you. I have one gent that comes in that I would trust whole heartedly regarding anything sxs shotguns. WHen were you thinking of getting it? It may be a week or so until i hear anything back.

Got a little while bailey. Need my shotgun licence first.

What really matters to me is suitability for game shoots, something quite formal over here in England. Turning up with an over/under is considered slightly bad form and turning up with an auto is just unthinkable. Not a lot of point in autos over here anyway as they are limited to 2 round magazines. Shuff, handguns of any sort other than antique muzzle loaders are completely illegal, no matter what licence you have...

here's a pic:

I'd get it in double trigger though, not SST. I'd like if the action had a little more engraving but the price would be far higher...

Actually im glad they havent taken that away from you gents yet  :aok

Nice pics Biggles, Im away from home atm, but when i get back, ill talk to my friend. Only problem ive ever seen with a Beretta shotgun ( better grades ) is extractor issues. Beretta ALWAYS makes good on any issue you may have with their higher grade guns. I have a friend that had an issue with his EELL, Beretta paid to have the gun shipped back to them, fixed it, and he had it back on the course in about a week.

When you shoot, is it game birds or clay pigeons?
