Footprints in the Sand

Forty two years ago, Buzz Aldrin took this photo of the area outside the lunar module after returning from their first walk on the moon:

July 20, 1969 was in the summer between my junior and senior years in high school. I was glued to the TV for what seemed like the entire mission, from launch to splashdown. I'm sure some of you guys old enough to remember were "space geeks" like I was.

I thought we'd be to Mars by now...

You know the Jetsons portrayed flying cars by the year 2000 and interplanetary travel, here it is 2011 and we aren't even close  :cry

I don't remember it, but I'm sure I listened to the whole thing from the womb I was in.


That reminds me, birthday is in 8 days, PM me for where to send gifts.   :x

u guys ever see the nat geo show where Buzz (i think) punched this moon landing sceptic in the face (on camera).  The guy called buzz a liar or something and buzzed socked him.  :lol The police would not press charges because...obviously.  :lol

Oh please that was almost 5 years ago (earliest I can remember) so why havn't I seen it flying or on you tube with newer videos? My point still stands we aren't close to cars that don't have to transform into planes to fly.

Me too...  Unless I was the result of a celebratory romp after the landing...  The timing would be pretty close...  Hmmm...  Perhaps I should ask my parents...  Hehe

I remember a hot, Summer day at the Community Pool.
Lifeguard had news of it playing on a transistor radio.
Saw Walter Cronkite talking about it on the 6 o'clock news.
I was almost 9 :)
