Hi Tech... 12 hour Switch Question/Idea
« on: July 21, 2011, 09:58:37 AM »
Sorry for the repost but it's going to get lost in the other thread, so why not post it here and lets have a civil dissusion.....

Hi tech is it possible to code this into the Arena Selection Clipboard, i feel it would greatly improve the current situation. When you get to the Arena Selection Menu can it be possible for a person to highlight the Arena they want to enter and get the country status for that Arena,( like you do in game by right clicking the clipboard map) That way you can go to the country with the lowest numbers if that's how you play, and you would still have your 1 country switch left, as it is now when you log into the Arena your already in the country you were in the previous time you played, if the country you log into is overpopulated then you have to use your 1 switch right away, then yea it seems a bit harse for those who help balance sides.

My idea just gives the side balancing people a choice before they get into the LW MA  just right-click and highlight the country on the Left side to enter the Arena for that Country... Here's the Pic sorry for the poor interface but i think you get what I'm meaning  ....   For the people who fly for the same country all the time this interface would mean nothing or affect their game play.

an interface simular to this

Discuss...........again sorry for the repost.

I am not HiTech but...........

Devils Advocate; a quick 1 country switch might backfire and could tip the balances heavily the other way.  And you can take too much information with you switching sides, ie cv's, posted missions, ect...

ENY should help balance that out. But then again, there is now only 1 LW arena.  :headscratch:

Giving perks to the side with the lowest numbers might help. People would be TRYING to get the low side, and keep numbers balanced. Instead of people going to the high numbers side (which they feel is likeliest to win and give them their 75 perks), people would be more encouraged to go the the low numbers side.

So maybe 75 to the winning side, 45 to the lossing side?
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

I believe there is a perk premium already built in for the side with low numbers?  Can somebody confirm that?

Their is the perk multiplyer, which i believe correct me if I'm wrong, goes by the amount of people inflight at the time compared to yours.

So if your on the low side you get a multiplyer above 1.00. High side below 1.00 and if all sides are perfectly even a 1.00 multiplyer.

Just remove "inflight" and you are 100% correct. :)

Would that mean all one has to do to change countries is to log out of the game and log back in?  If the country change is once every 12 hours, then it should be every 12 hours whether your just logged in or not. Your proposal is to actually allow 2 changes every 12 hours.  As is, if it's been 12+ hours since you changed countries, you have the option of changing countries when you log on. I don't see the need of having HTC remind you of it every time you enter the LW arena.

Sorta like this.....??

1.) It would help if each player had access to the timer on their current 12hours for the LWMA at the arena selection screen.

2.) Possibly right clicking on a highlighted arena then drops a menu for that player's current statistics. In addition giving them the current 3 country population statistics and tells them if they are able to country swap at this time. Not sure what this would do to any load on the system.

3.) I guess then an option would be offered based on your player timer or side balancing needs.
----a.) Only to change country to the lowest population country.
----b.) Or resume playing in the previous country from your last session.
A binary offer purely based on country populations or you have to wait out your 12hours to hop to the third country.

4.) Unless......... you logoff for lunch or something, then come back. Login again and that third country you really wanted to goto suddenly has the lowest population from the drop down menu and you get an offer to change to it.

5.) So what happens to your original 12hour timer if you goof? This would be a potential player country randomiser function for the fatfinger prone. Seems like one of those simple looking on face value functions that a binary 12hour rule keeps from being an invisible monster behind the mask.

Still, a way to see where you are on the 12hour countdown clock as a right click menu item or dot command would be nice in itself.

As the game is now you go into the country you last played as, you log go into that country and its over populated you will have to use your 1 country switch right off the bat no others for another 12 hours.  with the option like i posted about it would give the people who like to fight for the low numbers a chance to see what the Knight , Bishop and Rook numbers are before entering, so people who like to help the low numbered side balances don't burn there country switch right off the bat. it just will show country numbers and nothing more then they just choose. if the countries become unbalanced after a few hours then they still have there 1 country switch to use.

yes i understand you do have the Option of changing countries but that's after you've already logged into the Arena as the last country you played in previously, then you have access to the Officers Club to change sides, until then you have no clue what the side numbers are. like i said above if its unbalanced and you have to change side within minutes of logging in you just used your 1 switch right away.

People who don't change sides wont see it affect them at all, it just gives some info to help the low numbers guys find the right country without burning there country switch right off the Bat.
