I met my wife at work before I was self employed.  She was dating my boss.  She dumped him and we started going out secretly.  When we decided to get married, I left the company and went into business for myself.  That was an interesting conversation with my old boss...  "I'm giving my two week notice.  I'm starting my own business...  Oh, and I'm marrying that hot girl who dumped you last year."   :rofl

He was kind of a tool and I enjoyed it very much.

Met my wife in high school initially, she moved in with her father down the street during her 10th grade year. We dated for a month before she broke it off, but we remained friends. I went to college and she had 1 more year of high school.  I was in my last half year of college when my brother died in a car accident.  She started calling me regularly and just hanging around to help support me, and our relationship grew from there, started dating again and eventually got married a few years later. Next month will be our 7th anaversary. We have 2 kids; my step daughter is 12 and our son is 6.  I have to agree that it is better to know your partner for a long while before stepping into the world of marrage and kids.

The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

I met my current girlfriend on a dating site 1 1/2 years ago. We started texting then on the 3rd day talked on the phone while she was headed home from work..where we lived came up in the conversation. I walked out on my driveway as she drove past...She lives 4 doors down from me and had for 2 years.

Met through friends.......several years later she told me she really liked me and would like to see if It could go somewhere. We were married couple months later. Been married for 16 years in October. Best decision I never made. She totally seduced me and has been ever since. :banana: :banana:

Moved to a new town in 72 when I was 17, went down the pub, played darts with a guy named Rod, went back to his house and.. met his sister who was 14, thought she was OK, bit skinny and silly so ignored her and helped Rod with some work on his motorbike.

Three years later she's blossomed into a beauty, went out with her for 3 or 4 months, but I was more interested in getting pished and playing rugby so it didn't last.

Met up with her again 2 years later, got it together again, married in '81, still together, 30 years married in November, 2 kids and 2 grandchildren.

Told me after we were married that she knew I was the one she would marry when she first saw me when she was 14 - how do wimmin know these things?

Great stories .. fascinating how it happens differently for each of us.

The ladies always seem to test us to determine if we are viable
.. the guys always have to have the courage to step up and do the deed
ie: ..ask the Lady out for starters :)

It's never easy but .. when the light goes on it is like coming home.

I cannot imagine what life would have been without Kathy.
