National anthem
« on: July 23, 2011, 10:40:45 PM »
The most interesting yet never happen before event took place tonight while at the movie theater with the wife. As the lights where turn down, the American flag appeared on the screen and national anthem starts playing. That every second, everybody stood up. This took me off guard, looked at my wife with confusion and stood. Since when did a movie theater ever done this before? They even had the American flag next to the screen! WOW!

Hats off to you Augusta Theater for still!    :salute

we have RSL (returned and services league) clubs all over the place in Australia and they are fairly well patronised, every day at the setting of the sun the place goes silent and everyone stands, a trumpet plays taps over the loud speaker and this is read out:

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

chokes me up everytime.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

As a movie goer, that should be done at all showings.  A movie is considered a public event.

I was going to ask if you were on a military installation when this happened.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
