i like where he talks about cuts made in perfectly straight lines and all at the same depth...as if making a jig requires the same level of genius as Einstein.

you can't even begin to know what people knew or didn't know at that time. if they weren't writing in stone or clay, and whatever else they used wasn't preserved then we're clueless. to just say "oh it was aliens" is an insult to our species. to not find evidence of writing after 14,000 years is to be expected. anything light enough to carry might be plundered within a few hundred of those years. diamond tipped tools would be the first to go. anything made of wood would simply rot into soil. assuming they'd write anything on the stones in the first place, if it wasn't chiseled in deep, it would have eroded away by now.

i don't doubt our ability to make anything, even if we've forgotten how to do it, and i don't doubt that if some king decided he something that would last forever, then that thing would be made, whether it was useful or not.

point being, i have far more belief in the ingenuity, determination and egomania of humans than i do in space ships.

A jig?

Your kidding right?

Do you have any experience in working stone, metal or other materials ?

When you come up with the magical 'jig' that can produce the results in the following image using deer antlers and sticks tipped in diamond dust (even if they had that dust)...I will pay off your mortgage

I jig? LOL

 :bhead

This co-planar honing and surfacing and kerf was made by Indians on the Bolivian highland plains who could not read or write 14,000 years ago...with stick and bone tools...on granite....and I have bridge to sell ya...

That is a diamond circular saw cut/kerf on a honed Granite block...Pumapunku Bolivia

(By the way...even Einstein couldn't do this with sticks, bone and rock dust)

i have experience working with metal, composites, wood and concrete.... i don't know a damned thing about granite, it might not be possible to make a clean cut like that with any kind of hand tool (not even commenting on the straightness or depth of the cut). and i'll freely admit that i'm backing off on that point.

in general, its no mean trick to make a straight line with a cut all at the same depth, using hand tools, if you have the time and desire.
if you can work the material in the first place, you can make a jig for it. for a straight cut at a set depth, all you need is  a straight enough peice of material that won't move (either by its own weight, or by fastening it) as a guide, and a way to depth set the cutting tool.

i can't comment on what kind of tools they did or didn't have, but if we assume it was made 14,000 years ago, by humans, then they definitely had better tools than what you think or it wouldn't exist.  and i wouldn't expect the evidence of those tools to survive that long, beyond the undeniable proof of the results.

see, i'm also concerned why it'd still be perfect like that after 14,000 years of exposure to the elements. that cut, if it IS impossible to achieve with anything but modern tools then...i'd be more inclined to think someone is running a hoax, before i went spouting off about aliens.

either way, there are perfectly good earthly explanations for it, without having to bring aliens into it.

There is no earthly explanation to explain that cut in that rock

In fact, we as humans have only been able to achieve that degree of machining precision on hard rock in the last few centuries...

Now take a bite...and postulate how that was accomplished 14,000 years ago (stone age) in the Bolivian Highlands...

It is inexplicable...which in and of itself proves nothing

Hmmmm

The pyramids, crop circles, all the Mexico,South America, etc.I love all of that type of stuff, and my wife likes it as well. That is a miracle in itself! :lolThe fine cutting of blocks by a people that couldn't even write is mind boggling.
I don't claim to be an expert on all of these mysteries, but I think that the Ancient Aliens are for real, and it is my belief that if they came from other planets, they have mastered time travel,as it would be impossible to reach Earth due to the long distances involved.
Most of the UFO,Bigfoot,Bermuda Triangle type things can be attributed to hoaxes, but there are many that can't be explained. My take on the Ancient Aliens,is that they come from another dimension, but that is just my opinion.Nearly every culture, religion, etc, has stories of beings from another place visiting earth.
When Werner Von Braun was asked how the Germans had accomplished all the new weapons,he said"we had help from them!"A UFO crashed in Germany in the late 1930's,and a few aliens survived, helping the Germans with their war effort. The trouble I have with that one is why didn't the Germans win the war if they had all this ...."help"?
I don't have all the answers,but Ancient Aliens is a good program,and I enjoy it a lot.
If you get a chance, watch the Prophets of Doom.It will get your attention, and make you realize that we are very close to the end times. The art work in Georgia says it all in several different languages. We humans have over populated the Earth, and can't feed what we have right now!It will only get worse.Oil,water, food, financial collapse,...it is happening right now!

:aok  lol, I don;t think they used diamond tipped tools in Greece but they managed to cut a few square pieces of marble a while back.  Now I am wondering when someone will come out and say that they screwed up the dating by a 0 or two  :lol

"OMG how did those ancient stonecutters do such fine work? It MUST be aliens."  :lol

Think about it.

They didn't have any distractions.

They worked stone from morning until night.

They had generations to perfect the craft.

They most likely had better tooling than they are given credit for.

Carbon 14 dating will be debunked before this is all over.

My opinion.  :salute

It was nice of the Aliens to help the primitive homosapians make a nice line in a rock.  Gosh they sure are nice.  I wish aliens would make nice looking lines in rocks for me.

Clearly a useful heuristic for explaining the unexplained is that aliens did it.  Duh.

Well, "the gods did it" doesn't satisfy today's audience. We are technologically advanced; obviously no one else in human history ever thought tools would be handy, so it has to be teh alienz.

Do you seriously think that importing impoverished workers from neighboring countries originated with the US?  OF COURSE the 'aliens' did it  :lol
