The funny thing abt them is that if you put them on a flat surface to run.... they can't run straight...cos they are so used to running on uneven ground in Nepal. in their minds, the idea of straight and level is on an incline....so travelling by air would def be something new for them initially...

was in a VC10 once at Brize with the CCF, after about the 5th loop'n'bump the healthy and nutritious RAF lunch (a Pie, a Pasty, a packet of crisps and a mars bar :rolleyes:) reappeared with vigour. our Flight actually said "you lot are worse than a bunch of Gurkhas" :lol

Aren't there stories about Gurhkas sneaking up on enemy sentries and identifying them by feeling their shoelaces before killing them?

I'd hate to go down that way, some kick-butt soldiers for sure

Supposedly they felt the German helmet for identifying purposes.I find this hard to believe,as if your that close to your enemy,the Kukra is doing it's thing!!!

10 days talo training with the gurkhas , 4 hours low level at night ,and the poor sod driving the landrover on my a/c only passed his driving test the morning of the first day .............oh yes that was fun....... :(
