If you look in there "battle 360" section, they have pictures of a p51 Mustang making a carrier takeoff...

Is there some sort of story behind this Mustang?

They have some great color pic's on there page heres some pic's of the p51 test's on the cv from the link I posted.





 


Had the naval Mustang entered operational service, this is what it could have looked like. Based on a VF-4 F6F Hellcat's livery in early 1945. Profile by Gaëtan Marie.
