In offline testing last night I was able to kill a Tiger II through the front of the turret with the T-34/85, HVAP or AP with HVAP being easier, and with a Panzer IV H.  I could not kill it with the M4A3(76), but that is likely due to my inability to aim with its gunsight.  The German sights and the T-34/85's sight are very much superior to the American, British and T-34/76's sights in my opinion.

In offline testing I found the only match for the tiger2 from a frontal attack is another tiger2.

It can easily be beat from the sides and rear with a t34-85...the m476 may take a few rounds at close range from sides and rear.

Panther head on with this thing will lose 99 out of 100 times I don't recommend it.

How do you do that?  Is it possible to choose what vehicles appear offline so you can practice against a specific tank?

Yes, bring up the clip board and select Options and then Offline Drones, IIRC.

While in a T34, inside 1200 yards use HVAP, outside use standard AP.  The T34/85 has nothing on the M4/76mm in firepower at 1200 yards and longer ranges.  The M4/76m has an edge, imo, due to a faster reload and better optics (5x being the key).  The T34 has the armor advantage but vs a King Tiger that is a moot point.

hey rich, do you have those air to ground weak spots for every GV? i would like to take a look, seems interesting, i unloaded 5 shots in a M4 today wich means 10 40mm rounds and nothing happened, not even a lil smoke  :frown:

I did but I changed computers since then so I'll have to search. Thing is it isnt only the thin spots in the armor that tells the story. You are almost always attacking at an angle, shooting an angle shot, which limits penetration. The farther you are from the tank lessons the energy from the cannons of the IL2 or Hurri-D, or Yak-9T. As far as I know the only 20mm plate on a Tiger-2 is under the tank or low by the treads. The spots I highlighted are 40 mm and since the NS-37 gun with AP was rated at 50mm at 200 yards your going to have to be awfully close and at as steep a dive as possible. I actually used to invert the IL2 and come straight down on the tank itself, fireing 2 to 4 rounds at a near 0% angle. I set convergance at 250 yrds.

The Sherman is vulnerable in the rear top of hull, the upper sides, and most of all the top of the turret. In a Hurri-D I'd go for the turret top. Its the largest of the weak points and even misses can strike the front/rear hull tops which are also 20mm to 40mm or thinner. Try for one or 2 perfect shots each attack.

So, about my previous question.

Does our game model specific "weaker" areas in a GV's armor?  Again, is a roof a 40mm roof, the hull a 80mm hull etc, or are specific areas weaker/stronger depending on where hit?  Can staff answer this?

I don't know.  I am not sure anybody outside of HTC knows.
