I tried tuning to squad text (our number channel, not the red "4" channel) and then detuned that radio button, asked somebody to type something, and I couldn't see any new updates to that squad text buffer.

Does it only work so long as you have a radio tuned to it? Or can you "read" radio channels you're not tuned to? Which would be rather helpful in scenarios and FSOs and stuff.

From what I have seen so far Krusty, you still have to have the channels tuned.  The tabs just let you see JUST that channel if you want to... instead of everything else.

Example: I dont ever have 200 tuned in LW.  And even with the new buffer, and with 200 selected in the buffer tab settings, it dosent show up.

But this is a HUGE improvement IMO.  :aok

I just logged in real quick yesterday and was very impressed with the organizational overhaul to the text and chat stuff as well as the hangar.  I like that you can now add favorite aircraft.  The entire patch is the best patch I've seen since I've been here, including the graphics update.

You could add favorites for years. Most of the time I did fly/drive stuff directly from my favorite list.

You can click the top area of the text buffer for options. There is a menu that lets you select the channels you monitor that is separate from the channels you tune in the radio bar for transmitting. You can open multiple text windows each tuned to different channels and you can also adjust the text size in the windows.

Very Nice update all around  :aok
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Interesting.  I have never seen that in all the time I've played and I noticed it in first 5 seconds of new update.  The format must have changed.

Same function, but previously you right-clicked the hangar list, and chose categories from there. One of them was "favorites" and you could right click specific planes and add them to the favorites or remove them from favorites.
