68valu,

since you make nice simpits and now are making panels I thought I'd give you this link.  It's a keyboard emulator that works on usb, anyways give it a look.

not very expensive and you should be able to do a 88 button panel!!!!

hey 68value do you sell those or make them for yourself?  as soon as I get my own house (hopefully next year, now that child support is over), i am planing on making a simpit.  of course that's mostly a dream, then again, you never know.

Has anyone here used that product yet? Do you have to program that thing to associate the inputs with a keyboard stroke or does it show up directly in the game and can be programed to be directly associated with game functions?

I was thinking about using that in my simpit when I do finally get a chance to start it. However if it has to be associated with keystrokes then I will stick with my original plans of cannibalizing some old sticks I have laying around.

lots of guys over at SimHQ.com in the Pit Builders section use and have info on the Bodnar board. You might want to check that out.

I havent personally used it but I know Baumer used to to make his control panel{s} in his simpit, you can look through this forum to see pics of some of the stuff he made. As far as he told me you comp see it as an 84/88{cant recall exactly} key board,it also has inputs for analog controls so you can use potentiometers to make say a trim controller.
It seems to be able to do just about anything you'd like as far as setting up a control panel, basically depends on the types of switches, button and pots you use.

I bought one of the first version of those emulator/controllers boards and they work great. It's like having several gutted keyboards and joy sticks rolled into
one little bitty board. I gave Baumer the info a few years ago and he went hog wild and built some beautiful switch panels and such with it.

If any one is really interested in building custom panels on a budget I highly recommend this little gem.

<-- this is what i have running on a leobodnar board. I took the guts out of the saitek switch panel and wired it to the board and added dials for trim and switches for other stuff.

Do you have a website or pics of your simpits? Would love to see what you've done.

I have one of Leo Bodnar's boards powering potentiometers and buttons in my WIP simpit. It was simple to setup and takes up very little space.

Thanks for the replies, I am still not sure what I will do since I do have the sticks here, but it definitely gives me something to think about.
