Concert tickets
« on: August 01, 2011, 04:47:06 PM »
Went to my fist concert that happen to be the biggest concert of the century with like a rough guess of about 70,000 + people in the LA memorial coliseum and I'm officially addicted and wanna go to one again, however i wanna know how to find out about concerts early and get tickets in advance so i can get in the front and have that experience prior to other spots. What do you guys do?

I don't go to large venue shows much anymore, I discovered several bands/groups that while making some excellent music fly under the radar a bit.  I usually just check in on their websites periodically for info, I'm also a regular at one of the local record stores where a couple guys on the staff there no my music taste and recommend shows in the area.

Given the two choices I prefer smaller venues by a wide margin, tickets are a lot cheaper and the bands/artists are a lot more accessible, not uncommon to see them before or after the show and get the chance to chat a little bit.

Visit the websites for your favorite bands. Look for a tour schedule. Also, if a band has an E-mail newsletter, subscribe to it.

By the way, who did you see?

no pits? im not interested. sorry!

keep an eye on local theaters and entertainment centers for shows. theyll normally have their schedules set MONTHS in advance, if not a year. Mayhem Fest has its dates all set almost a year before the first show hits.

Want seats up front?  either become friends with a rock DJ at a local radio station, or be prepared to pay very big bucks through stubhub.
