Do you really think that having visible records would profoundly change the way a noticeable number of people play the game or is this just more of an idealistic stance? I am guessing the latter.
Not the latter. Obviously I'm an air combat fan. You said it yourself. Pushing yourself for that kill streak was 'physically painful and taxing' on you. I don't know that any cartoon game should produce that kind of response. Any thing that reinforces that kind of play, or as JUGgler so recently called it, 'timid' flying, can't be good.
There's been a thread on Levi recently. I don't know that Levi ever flew to set a record. Having been a squaddie of his in Airwarrior, I know he didn't there. He built his cartoon pilot rep on being able to go into any fight and come out the other end, and by the type of player he was. That goes for any number of the big 'name' players.
Grizz you've been recognized as one of the best sticks in the game. I'll agree with that, not because of kill streaks, landed kills, or being a jet jockey. I agree with it because we've tangled many a time in cartoon airplanes and that's where you proved it to me.
For me that's the only gauge needed to prove anything in AH

Artificial records don't encourage the fight, and that's bad.
