 :rofl

:rofl Oh man, with the amount of money they made off of this, I can't wait to see the NEXT Elder Scrolls.  :x

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

I get a kick out of how you find a barrel of tomatoes, potatoes, or apples in an old sealed off dungeon.

On an xbox I'm up to lvl 40 as an assassin khat with 100 sneak and smithing. I've got the ancient shrouded armor upgraded and a legendary elf helmet. As a bowman it's pretty easy to pick off people. Just now getting into enchanting at level 43 for that skill. You can have a whole enchanting party after collecting stuff for awhile. Can also make a lot of money enchanting stuff you find but it's hard to sell it all.

Have yet to buy a house. Still living in the abandoned shack. Have completed the Dark Brotherhood and Bard quests and a whole bunch of other quests and misc stuff. Still never have gotten but a couple of steps into the main story line where you go to that tower to help defend against a dragon.

Have yet to see a dragon. Going to do the thieves guild stuff next. Not sure yet about the companions or mage school.

Once you beat the brotherhood missions, You can use the sanctuary as a safehouse. All the containers are safe.

The theives guild aswell. they will let you use the nightingale hall. Its a bit warndown tho since its an ancient ruin.

The mages college gives you the best housing if you dont want to BUY a house: The mages dorm. If you want a better place to store your stuff, i'd go there first.

Just complete the Mage College quest series and you become Arch-Mage and get the Arch-Mage quarters which are equipped with an Alchemy station, Enchanting station and a crap load of Alchemy ingredients (including your very own ingredient garden).

Pretty much.

Personally the mages-college was a dissapointment to me. I came there to learn magic, I get stuck saving the college, then suddenly im arch-mage. and by the time all that was done, i STILL had not learned a single thing from that college except a lesser-ward.  :bhead

Oh I agree.  The Mage College quest line is a serious turd.  But the discussion was free housing, of which the Mage College offers a nice option.  Better then an abandoned shack.

The nice thing about my old abandoned shack is that I can warp right there just in front of the door. All I use is the storage stuff. Just have to get used to a couple of dead bodies in the house is all.

The new Dark Brotherhood lair is completely upgraded but I just have gone there for routine contracts. Yeah I know I could sleep or store stuff there. Also with the lover's bonus now there is no real need to sleep or find a mate.

Probably need to work on alchemy sometime. I've got a whole barrel full of ingredients collecting from nearly the start of the game.

Question?  Which is the better platform to get this game on?  I have a PS3, but I generally use my PC for gaming.  What are the differences between them?  Any gameplay diff?

Well, PC if you think it can run it of course. The graphics and modding give the PC an edge.

Rumor has it tho that SCEA may just let Bethesda release the Creation Kit for skyrim on ps3, as part of playstation+ subscribers.

Its not a rumor. Bethesda is going to release the creation kit this month. PC only of course.

Gaidin: PC. If your system can run it, get the PC version. Believe it or not, skyrim isnt that demanding. I'm running it at max graphic settings in a quad core amd 2.8ghz with a GT240 vid card and 4 gigs ram. A friend of mine runs it at low settings in a dual core amd 1.8ghz, 2 gigs ram with a GT260.

The difference between high and low graphic settings is hardly noticeable however. Of course there is a difference but its not like dragons look choppy or cartoonish. Its mostly anti-aliasing visual and texture decoration in objects that is lost.

PC version of the game lets you add insane amount of mods and best of all, you can keymap the game to your likings. I havent played skyrim on a console but i have played Fallout 3 on both systems and its just irritating to be locked into a gamepad control set when you have SO many things to do and manage in the game. Heck, inventory management itself is hell using a gamepad.

... and on a PC you can use the multiplayer mod ;)

I know about the kit being released in january. The rumor is SCEA may allow it to be used on PSN. Meaning ps3 users will be able to download mods onto their ps3's.

Don't get it for the PS3.  The PS3's architecture leads to some very significant problems as your save game file expands and gets bigger.  It just doesn't have enough virtual memory to handle it.  Once you get ~80 hours in to the game the save game bloat will crash your game constantly on a PS3.

Have not had any problems with it on an xbox but no modding. :(

However, it's nice playing on a 60" Sony flatscreen with stereo surround though :D
