I would also strongly recommend that everyone film their entire mission.  As there are no arena logs, if there's a dispute as to what happened, the film is a great thing to have.

If it's crippled in that you can't land it, then yeah bail out. Because if your pilot dies that's more "negative" points for your side. Also, it will count against you in your personal stats if your pilot dies.

If it's crippled in that it's combat ineffective, then land it because that will save the aircraft and reduce "negative" points for your side.

I meant crippled as in can't land.

very fun first tranche.

there will sure be a discussion on fuel (the 2x burn rate was pretty mad - esp considering we had no DTs) and pobably a bit on dar - but loads of fun and I look forward to the next set.

Also - let try to get the 190 wing together properlly - 190 wing A-ssem-bl-le!!

Departed A35 northbound with Ruah, 190A-5. Climbed to 28k northbound, procedded to mid-channel, searched about 20 miles NE, then back SW.

Dar alerted us to presence of bandits SW over channel. Sighted Jugs around 27k.  Avoided the Jug/109 furball and attempted to engage buffs. Wingman, low on fuel, made a desperate 6 o'clock pass on the buffs and was knocked out of action. I went high and was rolling in on the tail of an unsuspecting jug when my engine quit. Glided home, landed in the grass, and rolled almost up to the pavement.

Sum total of my sortie...ran out of gas and got my boots muddy.

Fun sortie within the confines of a 16 person arena.

I must admit I was shocked to see you patroling before we even hit the channel. I chock this one up to not reading the scenerio notes in detail as it seems some were not aware of the fuel burn.

Hey all!

Glad to be apart of this unit now.

Flew with the Luftwaffe today, Scored one kill in on a B17G in my FW-190, was damaged, went back for another pass but was killed. Uped again, flew CAP over airfield, landed successfully.

82nd (P-47s) lifted from A12 and rendevouzed with 359th (B-17s) at Angels 20 at 12.10 intersection.  Climbed to approximately Angels 27 and headed to primary target (A35 home of III/JG52).  Spotted bandits high six of the group, moved to engage, ended up in a rolling scissors with a Bf-109 but then lost him through the clouds.  TheMaj was in trouble with 2 bandits, spotted him low and dove to help, but lost him in the ground clutter.  Maj did not RTB.  :(  Climbed back to the buffs, but by this time the fight was over and the bombers were heading home.  Only got close enough to see a German aircraft go down in flames.

303rd BG(H)/359th Sqn lifted with 9 B-17G's. RV'd with little friends over channel and headed to Primary Tgt A35. Clean run into tgt, all bombers scored hits on AF then on departing tgt area was engaged by 190's that got by Fighter escort. 3 190's were claimed Destroyed with my own crew claiming 1 x 190 (Ruah). 1 x B17G of OldDog's Flight was lost in the engagement, 8 RTB 1 with minor dmg.

I was in a flight of three 109G2's of JG11.  I engaged a P47 in a rolling scissors firing several times but appeared to make no substantial hits. I observed him going nose low so I dis-engaged as there were still enemy fighters in my immediate area. When I finally lost vis on the 47's I headed towards the buff formations only to run out of fuel as I was lining up for a pass. I made an off field landing destroying the air frame, but suffering no injuries myself.  :aok

Piloted Bf 109 G2 of II/Jg11. Climbed out westerly to an alt of 27K. Patrolled western coast of France at max cruise setting for max fuel efficiency.
Enemy bombers entered German airspace while we were at our northern most point of patrol pattern. Jg11 raced south as best we could while trying to conserve fuel. Caught up with Fw190 Grouppe in route to known Bomber location. My wingmen engaged P-47 escorts, while I stayed on course to bomber stream. Nearly out of fuel, I descended to 20K to build speed for single attack run. I engaged the rear most set of B-17s from a low 6 o'clock position at 400 TAS. Opened fire at D800, scoring hits along left wing and fuselage of lead bomber. At D600 my engine quit from lack of fuel and I disengaged attack. B-17s escaped with minor damage due to lack of firepower with available gun package. I glided to airfield A35, landing safely.

I apologize for disappearing. A car crash took out our internet Friday night, thus missing Saturday morning, evening and today. I should be up and ready now.

I was wondering what happened to you Boo. I missed the Saturday evening practice myself so I wasn't aware that you had missed it too.

Bummer!

For the next frame, command is able to get either improved gun packages or drop tanks to you, but not both.  Which do you want?
