A clever film I saw this evening
« on: August 06, 2011, 10:30:24 PM »

Yes...  Rango...

We purchased the movie when it was released a few weeks ago.  Finally got around to sitting the kids down with us and watching it.

The animation is nicely done, and the writing is clever.  Lots of buried subtext that will fly over the kids' heads, but will make the adults chuckle.

Worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet.  ((Might be a little intense in a few spots for the really young kids))

It is a fantastic movie... the hair on the back of my neck stood up when it came to that scene in the canyon, with everyone on bats with little machine guns, complete with "Flight of the Valkyries" playing in the background.

Overall, very well done, I'd say. There were a few times, particularly at the beginning, that didn't seem to have much relevance to the overall plot, but that might just be me, and not having seen it since it came out.

:huh You guys haven't actually seen it yet, have you?   :headscratch:

Slow and boring totally predictable, glad I didn't see it in theater. My kids even hated it.

I'd rather watch spongebobsquarepants save bikini bottom.

The part with the bats with machine guns was cool I want in here so folks can complain its overmodeled, and leave my Brew alone.

the story is to complicated for kids, an the actors look way to realistic (horrible) IMHO.
my young daughter stopped watching it in the middle but me loved the "Flight of the Valkyries" scene ;D
