Great Fun
« on: August 07, 2011, 02:50:51 AM »
Haven't been on for a few months for various reasons, but tonight was great fun for the first night back.  The updates HTC has put out are great looking on paper, but once in game it's that much better.  I finally had a chance to try out the new GV system and love it.  I am still lost with guessing enemy ranges since it's been so long, and I have almost no luck seeing anything past 800 yards, meters, whatever it is.  My eyes are hardly "great" so the lack of zoom makes it hard, but that's hardly something I can complain about considering the fun I had at V85 anyways.  I felt a bit like a noob again, and still got the hang of it easily enough, the new GV system feels very conducive to new players.
Popped in the AvA for some fun in planes I prefer (not real big on the LW mosters and no one was in WWI), and had awesome fights with Oldman, jaeger1, and more. Shameless AvA plug. :P

I know I could ask this in the AvA forum, but I see no point in starting another thread so: Are the icons (3K each I think?) the new standard?  I really liked the no icons despite my eyesight, but wasn't sure if maybe a majority rule put icons back on?

Overall, I gotta say, very nice work HTC.  Game is still great fun and the updates are so nice (shiny P-40!) :D

You haven't lost your mastery of the P-40E, Xcelsior, wish I could see you and 1Duke1 fly together.  Excellent fights they were, on a night that stood out for excellent fights.

I believe that this icon setting is the new standard.  The most recent game update removed the ability to have a no-icons arena.
