PZL P.11c
« on: August 13, 2011, 04:56:37 PM »
I would like to see the PZL P.11c added. Now many may doubt saying "it has no place in late war" or "it saw limited combat" but this is simply not true, who cares if it doesnt stand up well against late war fighters I though this game was a WWII game not just WWII in 1944-45 Game. Two facts are most important to this plane, it was the first allied aircraft shot down in WWII, and it was the First Allied aircraft to shoot down a Axis aircraft in WWII. So I believe it definitely has its place in AH, its was very important aircraft in WWII history.

Emm, it saw combat sure... outclassed, and in every criteria can by added but sorry wasn't a important plane in WWII history cuz didn't make impact on the war (was only a nice target for the german planes like the I-16) and we need a lot more planes that can actually do a better job than this one so sorry

I'm all for early war, but there are priorities and this thing looks as if you can remove the wings with a pair of tweezers

+1.  It saw combat in WW II and that is enough for me.  It has a place eventually in the AH Inventory.

1- The I-16 was flown by the Soviet Union not Germany.

2-It was an important piece considering it was front line defense in 1939 in the midst of the Blitzkrieg. Its credited with over 100 kills.

Hes saying it was an easy target for German fighters, like the Soviet I-16 was.

It accounted for close to 170 German kills during the Polish invasion.

The problem is that PZL has got a limited appeal as both an MA ride or a scenario ride. Even in the early war MA it would be outclassed and that arena's not exactly well populated anyway. For PZL scenarios you are looking at Poland and IIRC Greece and that's about it, both of these would be very one sided events if run historically. Early war scenarios against the Luftwaffe are pretty pointless anyway until the LW get a bomber that can be caught by Allied fighters.

From a gaming POV a better bet for a really early war fighter would be something like a Gladiator, CR 42 or I-15. These would have more scenario options than the PZL and due to the taunting possibilities would probably even get used in the MAs more: "Hey you just got shot down by a biplane!"  :D

This. Plus the Pzl P.11 would be horribly outclassed by any early war fighter (yes, by the other biplanes too) , not being able to catch the b5n kate or the d3a val...

Speaking of BI-PLANES we have the I-16, but not the I-15, was the bi-plane version of the I-16, just slap another wing on top LOL THAT would be cool.
