Yeah, both of my parents where gone to work by the time we had to leave for the bus stop, and still at work when school let out. Bad weather wasn't that big a deal to us, it just ment you brought an umbrella or coat and walked a little faster to get out of it sooner.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

i don't know anyone my age that didn't walk to school from about 4th grade on

My oldest daughter, sophomore in High School, rode her bicycle today.  It was either that or the school bus.  The pouty lip and puppy dog eyes don't work on me, and her mother had to be at work early today.   :devil

Call me crazy but I enjoyed foul weather.  My diva of a sister would get soaked, cold, and miserable.  That made me happy :)

Let us know when she's a college sophmore, then you'll have no shortage of guys lining up around the block and volunteering to give her rides.  :devil   :bolt:

The line is already forming, but her mother and I aren't allowing it at this point.  She isn't old enough to start dating yet, in our opinion (the only opinion that matters in this case).

Nah, she can date. But first install a gun rack by the front door.  Show the date your gun and explain ballistics and how far out you can hit a moving target.  Also explain how long belly wounds take to kill a person.  :noid  Not worried about my oldest girl...only worried when a boys parents call saying she kicked the crap out of them.

i'll be making some flights to florida in the near future to keep things clear for my niece. she's a good kid....but my brother's a little too passive in his enforcement of some things.
i suspect that if anyone sees my nieces uncle john actually fly down to florida......whelp....i think they'll get the point, and not try to push things too far.  :aok

you guys have this all wrong..

When the young man comes over to pick her up welcome him in.  Give him a beer.  Then tell them they can't leave because he's been drinking.  Then keep them company the rest of the evening :D
