EVE Online
« on: August 19, 2011, 02:08:05 PM »
Hi all,

Just curious, If anyone plays EVE Online. I was thinking about trying to get into it. I've seen some trailers of the game and thought it looked pretty cool.

Anyone have any tips for me?  :)

Thanks,
Ace

I played it for a few years, but it got old and it takes more time and work than it's worth after a while.. Don't let that discourage you from trying it out though, it's an amazing game but it's a real commitment

Didn't care for it myself . I was very dissapointed with combat . The game got tedious for me before my trial was up . The comunity was decent though and that means alot in am MMO .

I played it for awhile.  It gets very repetitive, very quickly.

There's not a lot to do to get started as a player, a lot of grinding of the same thing over and over again.  The combat system is roll based and doesn't take into account Angular Velocity or Shield/Weapons Arcs...  The economy is very robust, and I've heard of people doing masters thesis for economics courses in college on cornering commodities markets and such in game.  That is probably it's biggest plus.  The other plus is great graphics...  If you have 3 years to dedicate to being able to fly large well armed ships, you may eventually get to shoot at another player, however you'll most likely lose your vessel before your screen loads the area you've just warped in to.

I play Eve Online. The truth is, Eve is what you make of it. If you make it a job, then the game will be a job to you. If you want to mess around and have a good time, then Eve will give you a good time.

Most people don't enjoy the game because it requires too much thought and imagination. There are so many ways to make money, shoot people, steal stuff, or whatever. You just have to join a corp, and dig into the game to see what all it offers.

I've played the game for over a year and there are still plenty of content in the game that I have not touched yet.

Played it a few months ago. Enjoyed it but decided after about a month or so that it just wasn't for me. I gave away all my stuff that I had accumulated in that time frame.
