Heckel; yer a very good stick, so's Terne.. temperment and tradecraft in a fighter pilot are often by-products of "I take no crap from no man" attitdues. I get excited too. None of us are even close to perfect in temperment.. find me an even tempered fighter pilot and I'll kill him real quick.   We all lose it; it's expected.

And no harm done when you stop short; as you did. Thats the point. Lets all help each other stop short... and let the guns do the barkin dog bit.

LOL TOWD.. yah never fail ta get me laughin in the end. And yer "IN YOUR FACE" style of fighting aways provides a great fight. And I know yer grinnin from ear to ugly ear right now too. Yah bum.

As fer Torque.. every time he's up I 'wingman' him.. that guy knows how to find a fight. And he also puts the fight 'right in yer face'. It often pains me to hear the unflattering stuff said about the guy's relentless pursuit of kills. Fact is; after a few hundred sorties with him in close proximity I've never seen him screw a fellow bish.. he always comes to help when a bish is pinned; spends his fair share of time flyin the impossible goon missions; he fights hard as hell and almost always stays and fights till he's outta gas. All those "You bastid.. yah ditched when I was almost on yah" gripes are him just flat outta gas.. who wants to be executed on the glide when you can get out with a clean ditch?

Like most of us.. he's just flyin the sim flat out. And he's good. When yah finally meet him; I'll buy yah both a beer.

Hey Verm!  I knew you were just kidding so no apology required!!     And I did see the          I didn't want to mention your name in the post in case someone took it wrong.  Didn't want to take a chance of so-called "soiling" your name, because you are a joy to fight with and against.

I also know you would of thought I was crazy  if I did climb up after you.  Talk about suicide.

I may have thought about engaging, but once I found out it was you, forget it!      Your an incredible stick even if you have a disadvantage.

BTW!  As I was tooling around at low alt keeping an eye on you, I noticed a dot near the ground and near the mountain range.  After you left I went searching for that dot.  Turned out to be a C47!  Did you know it was there?  I figured you may have been there trying to help it get in.

It didn't make it!

Verm you're a class act and anytime I know you are in the area I get more tense.  I think to myself, " toejam, Verm is around somewhere."  You raise the level of play.

Remember the first time we engaged back in Beta 1?  We went around and around for about 5 minutes at 200 ft in Spitfires?  Finally some of my countrymen came in and bailed me out!  Another 5 minutes and you might of had me!!

You raidoed wanting to know the ID of the Spit you fought for 5 minutes.  I felt pretty good duking it out with you for that long.  I was sweating after that one!!

Take Care Verm, and you know there will be another time.

Milnko,  I'm writing those 4 down!!

Swager adds four more, to his rules of air combat.

hblair!  Ya kill me man!!

The cat audios were so funny!

My cat will lay under the computer table while I'm flying and if I move the rudder pedals too much she'll attack my feet!     I swear she is a spy for the Rooks and the Bishops!

I scream, "Stop it ya stupid cat. I got BaneX on my bellybutton and you're clawing into my feet!"

Such a troubled life I lead!!

TOWD is gona whoop torque butt, and hangtime is torque's wingman.  So that means the three of you will be busy with each other, and leave me normal citizens alone.  That is so  .

I can see me typing now, "Hey TOWD, I seen Torque over F19 and he was lookin for ya."

Then I go the other way!!

OK, here's my comment on this subject :

Yes, I sometimes get very pissed when someone shoots me down. The last one was 2 days ago, when I fought higher Niki in 109G-10 and got waxed in HO. Who forced me to fight against the odds ?

Or when 190 surprised me while I was doing rope-a-dope on Macchi ?

Even if I vent out on open channel, I still know it is my own fault again, whatever the reason might be (poor SA, overconfidence, no concentration, taking off from CAPed field, or poor flying in general).

However, dweeby flying deserves to be called that way. Taking off just to circle in ack really serves no purpose. Can someone explain why so many do it ?

As for meeting Torque in the arena, hmmm, I'd say he flies his plane to its advantage and knows how to fight in it. Force him low to the deck, watch not to get in front of him, not even at d15, wait until he bleeds off his speed and that's it.

P.S.
JG pilots in Spits ? Hmmmm.

enemy=Hristo...

If I saw Hristo circling my field in a 109 when I took off, be god-damned if I wouldn't just turn around and land. What's the use of circling the ack waiting for him to run out of fuel?

I cannot count the number of times I have alt on torque, no matter what I am flying.  I get above him, and just as I am at the top of the roll, to dive down on his six.  The nose of his F4U comes up and removes the rear half from the front half of my aircraft.

Nigh on impossible, bad percentage shots!

Why does he always take those weak snapshots, why do they alway hit my aircraft.

Where is Leonard Nimoy when you need him for "Insearch of the Lethal Low Percentage Snap Shot."

It exist I tell you, its not a myth, I now believe in the Yeti, Space Aliens, Black Helicopters, Honest Politicians, Etc.. Etc..

Not all of us are top notch aces.  We try to survive the best way we can. If flying in our own ack to keep away a hot pilot with a alt advantage is dweebish, then so be it.  I fly dweebishly.  I never claimed to be anything other.  And I also never claimed that such an act of a sim pilot, who doesn't know massive air combat tactics or maneuvers, to be dweebish. Mainly it is survival, survival in a hostile sky.

This sim is about fun.  I found it fun to chat with Verm, hugging ack, and keeping an eye on a possible C-47.  We all have our different ideas of having fun in this simulation.  Some are vastly different than others, but my belief is that none of them are dweebish.  Just something that keeps us coming back day after day.

I am so sorry if my way, or my ideas of having fun in this sim offends anyone. Ways and ideas such as flying around in my own ack or flying the aircraft I want to. Yes, flying any aircraft I want to, even though I am a member of a LW squadron.

It is too bad some individuals find it easy to question others because it does not agree with their "way" of flying this sim.

Not rattled at all, just a thought!!

Have a Nice Day

LOL Downtown.. seen him pull up into the guns of a diving bouncer many a time. He ALWAYS points his weapons at a threat! Remember.. he's got a very stable platform with an exceptional rate of fire. You are highlighted and easy to pick out against the sky.. he's occluded against the ground.

Easy to misread his E in this circunstance; and very hard to get a substantial shot because your angle to him as he pulls up into you for a guns solution is shorting rapidly while you unload in negative G, and his angle to you remains near constant. He'll open fire first; and have a solution longer.. not a good deal. Even if he misses.. you go by on your dive and he's above you now.. another bad deal.

If ya see the nose start to come up while you are on the bounce and you are beyond your gun/cannon range; PULL OFF! If yah don't, he's gonna deliver 'old facefull' for sure, and failing that you'll still have HIM in that damn big blue beast above and behind you. Scares the hell outta me just thinkin about it...

Let me explain it a bit:

I am not talking about situation where you take off and see higher enemy or even few of them. Of course running back to ack is a wise thing there.

But I have seen situation where people see vulchers cruising above the field and waiting for a buff to kick out acks. Being among that vulch crowd, I have seen so many times planes take off but never leave ack envelope, trying to lure planes in ack and get a cheap kill. Even cheaper that vulch kill, at least vulchers fire a shot.

The great fights/pilots are what bring me the most enjoyment from the sim. Hangtime is a class act in the air and a very good stick, hell even though he`s killed me many times more than I`ve killed him (8-2,yep I`m counting em ya bastage    ) I still keep looking for a fight with him.Call it being hard headed or what you will-it`s the thrill of combat with a worthy foe that makes or breaks a sim like this-at least for me. If it wasn`t for the great friends/fights I have in the arena I`d just blow the dust off of EAW and fly for free.Nothing compares to the thrill of killing a great pilot or even being shot down by one after a good fight. Look deep-IT`S MORE THAN A GAME! But thats another post altogether,<S> to all my virtual comrades and my enemies you guys make it real!
