Flak towers
« on: August 23, 2011, 07:41:32 PM »
It would be interesting to see Flak towers between the town and the big airfields.

armament 128mm Flak 44 twin mounts and 20mm and 37mm one level lower. but in game you could just have 20mm and 37 mm maned guns.

walls were 10 feet thick or 3.7 meters nothing the Russians shot at it made a dent.

It would help defend against the horde.  :x

It would make bigger hordes even more common.

 :headscratch:

The 88mm AA is not even in the game.  In AH, there are quad 20mm for auto ack, single 40mm for manned ack, and 5in proximity fuse for puffy ack.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.

When HTC introduced the new strats, I remember reading that there were 88mm and 105mm FlaK guns, as they've based on German flack towers. I'm not sure if HTC still has the info page anywhere, they seem to have cleaned out the news archives.

Yup, we have '88s. Here some pics I took in the RV 8 and 109. Both from the old strats in the TA, and from the new strats. We even had them before we got the FlaK towers. Looks like its 88mm's, maybe 105mm's and quad 20mm's on the FlaK towers.

New strats:

well, is it me, or do the 88's and 5" AA guns perform exactly the same? it seems whenever i fly 20k over a cv it sends up its puffy but only scratches the paint, then when i get to the strats it only scratches the paint again.

Exactly. He already has an unfair advantage in a manned gun since he is the only one of us to actually have fired one.
