GV GEARING....AGAIN
« on: August 21, 2011, 01:24:45 PM »
If it's possible.... can you "fix" gearing so that when you're in reverse ,,it stays in reverse until you(the player) actually presses the W button to move forward? I mean  it really suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxx to be slooowly backing up  make a hard pivot  and have the tank shoot forward when you either stop it straighten up.I've been ripped over GV gearing before, even by some who can't spell "GV"  much less ever driven one. I've been told my "tank commander" controls the tank. Welll  my "tank commander" has never told my tank to lunge forward when the last button i pushed was an "S".
      Thxxx in advance.    :salute

Hmm.  I've not had an issue with my gv's not sticking in reverse.

My only issue with the auto transmission is that when stationary and a pivot turn is performed the tank will move forward when I did not touch the W key (and the W/S keys are my only throttle control).  Only the tanks with true pivot capability (treads turn opposite) do not move forward once the pivot turn is completed.

Otherwise..... I'll put you on my list of people to teach how to control a gv.   ;)

I believe that is exactly the issue he would like fixed.

It would seem that pivoting is slaved to a forward gear so if you are backing up and pivot you suddenly find yourself going forward instead of continuing to reverse.

When i have my finger on"S" (because it seems pushing it once or twice in a row wont keep it moving backwards) and I'm slowwwly rolling backwards and pivot turn...when my finger leave "S" it lunges forward. I don't understand why tapping "S" once won't start a reverse motion and hold it, and maybe pressing it twice in a row won't send it full reverse speed.I think Shift S or something will do that but,, if you hard pivot and it comes to a stop, it'll lunge forward.

And trying to stop going down a hill. Hit S key, E key and the tank rolls down hill at 80mph when you dont want it to( I know sometimes you want it to). But whats with the the idea behind the auto transmission? Maybe i missed something in the update. I do like all the other changes in gv's tho :salute
