I have a bunch that I got from my father from his time in the Air Force.  Including about 8 ATC and 6 TAC patches and a ARRS patch.

I was never huge into patches, but I had read the book "Flying through Midnight" about special ops pilots taking down convoys on the Ho Chi Minh trail in complete darkness during the Vietnam War in dilapidated old cargo planes. The day after putting down the book I attended an airshow and found a patch for a similar squadron with a really cool slogan, "Deny him the dark". Had to have it.

Ok CAP .. some of my most memorable .. I have a box full of 'em from places I have been and things I useda do

I was wing TODO even for a bit, extra duty out of the ECM shop for a summer while I waited for my line number for Tsgt to come thru .. it was an awesome summer. Technically part of QA, got to stand on end of runway during simulated air attacks and invariably the F4 guys would line up on me for their strafing runs ..wish I had video of it, you dont hear an F4 comin at all till the last second

Shoulder patch we useda wear at Udorn
..we were told not to wear them off base as there was a bounty on our heads during in-breifing.
Udorn is 30 miles from Vientienne .. capitol of Laos. Bad guys were in the area.


Off duty patch a lot of us wore on our bush hats.


The Udorn Monsoon Flyers club .. gawd what a ton o memories there.

Wing Commander was part of us, he was there the day a falcon 56 R/C plane lost its wing and meteored into the minefield outside the picket and literally blew up. The look on the pilot's face was *priceless* .. all he had left was the txmitter and no way was anyone goin out there to get his wing.
