I love my Droid X.   It does everything I need a phone to do.   I'm grandfathered into Verizon's "Unlimited" plan for almost two more years.

Same... with some simple z rooting, I have hot spot for free. In addition, I use Googlevoice mails so I have visual net based voicemails that displays the text of the e-mail and can play it audibly instantly without having to call into some other number. In addition, I use apps that let me download music without any cost, I listen to all the talk shows I want, I have multiple browsers (some are good for work, some of personal use), and I can watch all the flash based sites I want.

Total savings= $70 a month.

Do that with an iPhone and you will be iPaying your bill with a few more Jacksons. Also, the bloated crap that iTunes installs on your system is akin to a virus.

I sincerely hope with the new Motorola/Google buyout that Apple gets squeezed.

I disagree.    I was with Sprint from 1997-March of this year.    I lost count of blatant Coverage holes and dropped calls.    I have yet to have a dropped call on Verizon.

Here verizon is the backward stepchild everyone beats. Its good when there is service, but only when you get a decent tower. City size here is 13,000 but you can stand in the middle of town and only have 1X coverage. There is a verizon store towards right before the signal drops out and they will stand there and sell you phones all day even if you live in the no-service area. You can ask them five times will the phone work in "X" area and they will tell you it will work fine even though it hasnt has service there for five years. An hour later you are back complaining about it then they will admit there is no service there. Got out of my two hour old contract that way and they have no plans on adding another tower out here. Its sad to use it for a work phone when it doesnt work out here. Hopefully I can be issued one with another provider

Overall he likes it. He has had a random reboot/turnoff issue but it's getting addressed today.
