Crash on first Arena load

Since the last patch I have had an odd and predictable issue.  I open the game, get to the lobby just fine, but when i select an arena it crashes.  I restart the game and I'll have no problems after that. If I shut down the game and come back more than a few hours later it will happen again. So far it isn't really affecting my enjoyment of the game but I don't want it to get progressively worse. 

Any thoughts?

have you installed a bunch of updates/patches, since you initially installed the complete game download?

it could be something in your settings folder... you could backup your current settings folder, and move it to a safe location, then login to the game and let it regenerate the settings folder ( then afterwards you could copy & paste your stick settings and other important .cfg files )

or you if you indeed have done numerous patch overs, it might be a good idea to go ahead and to a complete fresh install of the game...... I prefer to do this after I go thru 6 to 8 updates max....... ( ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DESIRED FOLDERS BEFORE HAND... uninstall then reinstall the newest game version )

it could also be something to do with your video , or your memory perhaps

I noticed something peculiar last week--when the idjits reset the LW map yet aGAIN....I had 10-15 min with nuthin to do, so I went to try out MW--soon as it tried to load, got a white screen ("AH has encountered blah, blah..") When LW was back up....loaded right up just fine....

Now that I think of it, this could be the same cause.
