some question on Gvs
« on: August 28, 2011, 12:30:33 PM »
I became interested in the vehicles recently, and there are some things I would like to clarify but does not find the solution, maybe someone can help me:

1) how you can have a "successful landing" off the surface of the fields? happened to me in the middle of enemy territory, and, instead, I happened to be captured near a spawn point

2) is possible, and how to, set the mouse buttons, so you can use them to shoot, stop, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any help

GV landing system is a bit different from planes. You can get a successful landing off the pavement if you
- are undamaged and without any enemy presence withing 6(?)k (manned ack, GV, plane) anywhere on the map, even in enemy territory
- or damaged or undamaged and without any enemy presence withing 6(?)k in friendly territory.

2) is possible, and how to, set the mouse buttons, so you can use them to shoot, stop, etc.?

Should be, but I'm not sure how that would conflict with the view system on your side (I'm not using the mouse myself for that). Go to Options/controls/map controller, select the mouse and try to map the buttons.
Maybe someone else can tell us more.

if your at a GV field, you have to be in one of the hangars to actually "land" your tank.

No, you don't have to. Just being on pavement works. (If no enemy is around, even that isn't required, of course)

you might want to test that. if your not in a hangar you will not land sucsesfully.

I don't have to sopecifically test that, because I do it every day. Never fails. Last sucessfull landing just 20 minutes ago, King Tiger in enemy presents on one of the small paved roads on the base.

  :headscratch:

Nope.  Just be on concrete.  Friendly concrete will land you "successfully" regardless of damage or where it is on the map.

Otherwise, if you are not on friendly concrete to land a GV successfully- you must not have any enemy players presence within at least 6000 yards (I think it is a wee bit further though because I've tested that theory just after the enemy icon got out of range (which is 6000 yards).  That includes manned guns (when manned), gv's, aircraft, etc.

Engine off? Not moving?

I bet you need to calibrate your rudder.

RE: distance from enemy.  5.5K. It may even be 5K. To be safe you should just go until you cannot see any icons, enemy or friendly.

Lag.

You must be moving. Like the snail said, film it.

You can tower out anywhere and land succesfully if no enemys are within 6k (just to be safe).

You can land on any friendly concrete at any time and get a succesful landing

Skorpion, you're clearly moving even it the movment is too small to notice. You're the only one this is happening to, we've all done it and landed succesfully, so therefore the problem is on your end.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.
