Purdue is going to be bad once again. I'm guessing four wins on the season, and that's my fandom being optimistic. Danny Hope is a bad coach who can't manage the clock well enough to save his job if he was anywhere other than Purdue. But at Purdue he's going to get probably two more years because he's not running afoul of the NCAA and he's graduating kids with decent GPAs. Those are good things, but those are baseline expectations for any coach, and shouldn't be enough to save someone's job when you lose to Indiana at home. Our season ticket and attendance numbers are going to have to get really bad to get rid of him, and in the next two years, I predict it will get that bad. Which is sad because Tiller built our program up to a respectable level finally, and its all going to crumble on down again. Our only chance for success is that one of the QBs on the depth chart turns out to be the next Drew Brees or even Kyle Orton.
Purdue has one good running back in Ralph Bolden and a couple very fast corners that are going to make some plays. And an All-American place kicker. And that's about it. Usually we also have a future NFL D-lineman but I think the last good one just graduated. If you're in the Big Ten you can chalk Purdue up as a W.
Edit: That said, I will be in the D-lot tailgating before every home game. This year is all about the tailgate.
