Cool vids, I have not seen them before.  Thanks for posting!   :aok

... as far as the wishlist goes....

This really would offer nothing that the Hurricane IID doesn't already have.  Plus, with the amount of use it would see, or rather not see, the Hurri IID is a viable substitute in scenarios.

I think there are many other aircraft HTC could add first.

My opinions, of course.

how is a hurricane iid a viable substitute for a stuka?  :headscratch:  i want some of what you're taking.

don't try and fool yourself loon, either the g1 or g2 models of stuka would get used enough...

The Hurricane's 40 mm Vickers S guns are very much inferior to the Stuka's 37 mm BK 37. The Vickers' has a muzzle velocity of 1,870 ft/s, or little more than the MK 108 spud gun. The BK clocks in at 3,836 ft/s with APCR Tungsten rounds (standard issue on "Gustav the tank killer"). Almost 1000 ft/s more than the .50 cal. For comparison the Il-2's N-37 clocks in at 2,260 ft/s.

you might want to check those figures, the BK37 fires around 880 m/s,thats around 2600 fps. It's certainly not 1400fps faster than the NS37,depending on the round used the NS37 shoots as fast as the BK37. However the tungsten core rounds might have better penetration,as nice as a stuka with BK37's would be I'd rather a 110 with the BK37 as it has 66 rounds compared to 22/24 rounds that the stuka carries. The 110 has only a single BK37 so it would have a much longer firing time and no convergence issues.

Hadn't seen a few of those yet. Thanks Tbolt.  :aok
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

The BK 37's 380 gram Tungsten-core APCR round had a muzzle velocity of 1,170 m/s or 3,836 ft/s. This was the standard round carried by the Ju 87G. The 685 gram HE round clocked in at 780 m/s or 2,557 ft/s.
