In the other hand we have the 4-hog, the c-hog, the m-jug, spit16...  neither seen much combat in the ww2. True, still a lot more than the 2005.
Guess what?  Fiat cr.42 ftw  : )

The Spitfire Mk XVI saw little combat?  Why do people insist on continuing to hold onto this incorrect claim?  The F4U-1C was not rare, over 200 were produced and saw operational squadron service in the last few months of the war and took part in the last few major island campaigns in the Pacific.  The same with the F4U-1D and the F4U-4, both fully equipped USN squadrons 4 months before the end of the war in the Pacific.

Stop effing lying about the Spitfire Mk XVI's combat use.

I don't care how much you bleeping hate the Spitfire and wish it had never been created and that the Allies had lost the war to the Glorious Luftwaffe.  Stop lying.

Over 1000 Spitfire Mk XVI's were built and it saw more combat that everything else you listed combined, including the CR.42.

That isn't even touching on the fact that it was the same exact airplane as the Spitfire LF.Mk IXe, of which large numbers were also built.

i think people say the spit16 didnt see much combat because someone a long time ago on the BBS said that only 100 or so were made of one model of a spitfire and apparantly its the truth now.

I just sent him a private message copying my reply.  I am sick of posting it in response to that claim only to see the person post the claim again and again and again never even giving a hint that they have ever seen the correction.  If he wants to put one of the Spitfire line on his list, his target from AH is the Seafire Mk II, which was a pretty low production model.  Over 1200 Seafire L.Mk IIIs were built though.

The model of Spitfire that had 100 produced was the Mk XII, the first Griffon engined Spit.  It did see very heavy combat for the limited number produced though.  We do not have the Spitfire Mk XII in AH.

Thanks AKAK I am starting to get tired of people spewing nonsense without actually reading or providing sources anymore. We had the same situation in the last half dozen forums where I was asking to you about the italian airforce and the numbers in combat for the Re.2005.

I couldn't pull the numbers off the top of my head, but I know the 45 or so Wikipedia said was wrong, I can't remember if you said it was more or less build during the war and if they seen combat action in numbers.

perhaps HTC should introduce the G.55 and Re.2005 regardless of documentation history in order to flesh-out a nation plane-set that is weak?  the RA was not a large airforce nor was it a significant contributor to the air war, but they did make planes that are (or look like they would be) fun to fly.  Once the Italians are done, work could proceed apace for the missing Japanese a/c; time to bend the a/c inclusion "rules" a tad......

+1 to re-2005 + G-55....and according the the current italian gov't ,the dept involved with the history of ww2 AND the aircraft company that made the aircraft, there were at least 48 re-2005 MADE...that includes production models, prototypes, and rebuilt models from wrecks...additional models from parts MAY have made as well.Information on other models is cloudy at best due the overthrow of the italian gov't and the occupation by the germans, records during this period and during the war were lost or destroyed by accident or on purpose by those who were either pro allied, anti nazi,or anti fascist italy.  remember the factory was under control by three different governments from 1943-45

Please post this data from the Italian government that proves your claim that there were at least 48 Re.2005's produced, which included not only the prototypes and pre-production aircraft but production aircraft as well.

its really simple ack ack, instead of having people do things for you,do them yourself...call or write to the places you want info from and get a reply....its not hard to do...if you call from the usa to italy remember to use the country code 39 to acces info ,im not sure what code you use if your in england, contact the societa' storica first, then email the manufacturer via the web,you can email them in english.i would be more helpful to you...but i read your replies on my posts. :neener:

Ahh...I get it.  You don't have any proof, which is why you're so hesitant to post it.

I'm going to ask someone from HTC staff to elaborate on this so it ends this discussion on documentation.

three 20 mm MG 151/20s and two 12.7 mm (.5 in) Breda-SAFAT machine guns are better for buffs hunting  :noid  :D

If you love buff hunting with heavy weapons, try a Bf-110G2

2x 20mm MG 151/20 cannons, 350-400 rpg
2x 20mm MG 151/20 cannons, 200 rpg
2x 30mm MK 108 cannons, 120-135 rpg
(Also a favorite of mine is the A2A Rockets)
Really nice bomber hunter

Or a FW-190 A-8

2x 13mm MG 131, 475 rpg
2x 20mm MG 151/20 250 rpg
2x 30mm MK 108 55 rpg
Nice heavy package single engine fighter, quite nimble at high altitudes

Also: All P47s, Hurricane Mk IID w/ 40mm, and Bf-109G2 (Rather light IMO, but 3 20mms w/ gondolas)
