CH Fighterstick
« on: September 09, 2011, 05:09:19 PM »
Just got my brand new CH Fighterstick. What is the concensus on preferred scaling . I tend to be a little heavy handed and really enjoyed my old FFB Sidewinder, for that reason. Any help would be appreciated.

I  fly with an easy touch.. so I set all my scaling 100% across the top

I recommend doing a search on these forums for Ack-Ack's or Murdr's  CH Fighter Stick scaling/settings if you want to use scaling

their are several threads on the subject in the help and training forums

When I left AW and came here I was VERY heavy handed. To fly smoothly I had to really tweak the settings. Then I thought about it and decided that flying smooth conserves "E and "He who has the best "E" management usually wins the fight". I started with the default settings. As I got comfortable with it I started moving the sliders up to get rid of more and more of the scaling. This way in a few months I had trained myself to be smoother on the stick, and I think a better cartoon pilot for it.

You mileage may vary, but either way, Welcome back !

Leave it scaled at default. Smoothness counts.

the one thing I would say is, don't use a dremel tool to ream out the hole, no need....you can easily take out too much, just use an exacto knife or any sharp small knife, it truly is very easy to do the hardest part is the programing....and that is not hard at all, just typing in command lines double check them to make sure or they wont work.    :salute

My story is pretty much the same as Fugi's. Now I don't enable scaling.
If you don't have one already pick up a good powered USB hub.

Thanks for all the replies guys <S>. I have seen the MOD instructions, and looks easy enough. Thanks for the scaling advice too.
I havent really used it as am waiting till 19th when my Visa flips for the month. (dont want to put too much on per month as I pay the balance each and every.) Then Ill order the Rudder pedals.
