Mapped controls stop working
« on: September 10, 2011, 02:48:08 AM »
Newbie here. I have a Saitek x52 Pro and I'm having troubles with my mapping, especially in Mode 2 for ground vehicles. For some reason, some of the mapped commands stop working after a short period. For example, I spawn in but my engine off/on doesn't work (yes it's mapped for vehicle) also the accelerate and slow and reverse keys stop working after I go from Flight Mode 1 back to  Mode 2 and so on. Am I doing anything wrong or is it a system or game issue?

Cheers

Just out of curiosity, what does the Multi-Function Display show when you press the buttons in question? That's the display on the throttle by the way. It should tell you what button you pressed or, if you named the functions in the SST, it will show the name.

Thanks heaps for your prompt reply. Interesting question. I didn't even notice that the throttle showed the modes. It shows Mode 1 even when I'm in Mode 2!

In-game, do you have it set to auto-choose the mode? When you spawn a plane or GV, look at your text buffer to see what mode the game decided to activate.

I don't have Saitek stuff, but I highly doubt the mode displayed on your throttle has anything to do with the mode that the game chose when you spawn a ride.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't have it checked, I was switching manually. I'll see if that works.

Cheers,

That simple 'check box' seems to have done the trick. Thanks again.
