As odd as it sounds, i like the old "guy in the rubber suit, steping on models" Godzilla..........I would spend hours when i was a little kid watching those movies.

The new godzilla looks like a cross between a rabid alligator and an upright iguana on steroids.

That said, ill still watch the new movie  :D

I havent seen  ( and i dont think ) there are any pics of the "new" godzilla. The one i was commenting on was the last Godzilla movie with Matthew Brodrick. Since i couldnt find any pics of the new one, the only new-ish one is the one (pic) shown in the first artical (link) http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00035527.html Never did like that portrayal of him.....just seemed all wrong.
That article makes the new Godzilla movie sound promising.  I like that they are gonna go back to the original roots of the Godzilla movies & have him fighting some other kind of monster/monsters.  Should be good, all though the bar isn't set all that high following the last Godzilla movie in 98.

The last Godzilla movie was Godzilla: Final Wars in 2004.

I had to look it up and yes the Japanese dig take a dig at the 98 version.  They called him zilla saying it wasn't worthy to have god in it's name.

They took further shots at him in "final wars" i believe. where they for 1.

Portrayed new york as nothing but "pimps&hos" and had a black illiterate pimp threatening to shoot a police officer. then Zilla show's up randomly.

Then, Godzilla gets to Australia. and zilla is just randomly there. they both fight, and zilla doesn't even stand a chance. He gets thrown into that famous theater then godzilla blasts him.

Ive seen alot of the old godzilla movies, but personally i like Zilla's design more than godzilla.  Zilla seemed alot more realistic then godzilla's did.

That costume for the last movie just sucked. The best was the one used in Godzilla 2000.

i think Godzilla 2000 was actually mostly CGI godzilla with a few scenes of the guy in a suit thrown in.

Yeah I was reading that the suit weighed over 200lbs and it was very difficult to move around in, they even ran a hose up the tail of it to pump A/C into the suit.
