one has to wonder how you know how a scalded cat runs?  :noid :devil

:rofl :rofl

I drooped my 53" trailer on 3x RV parking spots  at White Sands  NP ,New Mexico and took the tractor for a ride 7-8 miles deep in the dunes.I was the only dweeb driving highway tractor there, some punks driving off road rides  honked me,  was no place close to rent a car,Alamogordo 5-10 miles away, but  they let me in with the tractor. This place is awesome,  bright ,hot white "snow".

My "new to me" daily driver, no more gas hogging Chevy Suburban for me!

She's a 2001 325i with a 5-speed, titanium silver metallic with black leather..... and looks and drives like a brand new car, inside and out. Not bad for less than $6K.  :D

Days at the High Desert Raceway, 1/8 mile on George AFB when it was active.. run by Bernie Longjohn, who retired from USAF and took over Kings Valley, renaming it Los Angeles County Raceway, back in the day :)

 2 questions.

1) did ya beat that mach1?
2) was that a real grabber in the background?

 sweet ride too.

VERY nice, 'specially with a 5 speed!!

I tell ya, CAP, every day that passes I become more and more of a BMW fanboi! I've owned quite a few cars in my 23 years with a driver's license, 32 to be exact (counting the race cars) including 3 Corvettes, a 300ZX, and nearly a dozen Acuras and Hondas.

This BMW 325i has to be about the smoothest, best handling, best driving car that I have ever driven. I've sampled the German Kool-Aid, and it rocks. :rock

And I flew from Myrtle Beach to Ft Lauderdale and drove 11.5 hours back to get the right car with the 5-speed. Wouldn't have it any other way.  :aok

 sweet ride too.

The Mach 1 Mustang was stock .. wasn't even in my bracket (he was quite a bit slower)

That was a Maverick (the car with the hood scoop) ..(remember those?) in the background ..guy had put a boss 302 in it and it really sounded *awesome* (cam, headers, gears, slicks when he raced, the works) .. he was quite a bit faster than my Dodge :)

Coupla years later I showed him the Duster was quite a bit faster than his Maverick :)

The bottom pix (against the 6-cyl Valiant) was bracket finals that day .. guy with the slant six had 6:14 gears in the back and alla go fast goodies with 9" slicks and the car was gutted ..sounded like a real angry buzz saw ..launched amazingly fast, if you blinked you'd miss it .. that pix was snapped as I launched the Dodge ..the Valiant had the head start (it was bracket racin) .. ol' Dodge was about half a second faster down the 1/8th ..but nothin stayed with that Valiant for the first 60 ft :)
