I came ever so close to buying an '08 Shelby, but it had a lot of miles and I suspected they weren't gentle ones.

going shelby, 2011 or newer would've been the way to go. judging by their performance, i suspect that they're already putting down a little more power than they're rated at......possibly close to the levels claimed from the 013

Man get out and enjoy these sunny days!  It seems even the 5.0 sips fuel when driven gently.

1 piece aluminum driveshaft, safety loop and line lock are going in soon. Preparing for a couple track days but the DS is ~25lbs lighter than stock so I'll pick up a little 1/4 mile time as well. I just haven't had the time to do it.

Obviously depending on how I use my right foot and type of driving I'll see an average between 24-31mph between fill ups. Highway driving in 6th gear econo-mode I'll get the best vs around town and being a little more aggressive with the throttle.  All this goes down the drain however if I succumb to Shelby fever...

I did 20 passes one day in December and reset the monitor. Averaged 9.x mpg at the track that day.

the driveshaft is something i'm worried about. on milleville's track, i'm pretty certain i'm gonna be able to make 120+ before i have to brake for the turn after the long straight. i saw one video where the guy lost his shaft at 130mph. i don't wanna be that guy.
i'm gonna email the local scca, and pop in on one of their meetings. they meet in mapleshade once a month. they've got driving instructors too. i think i'll need some to get the best out of my car. i was gonna bring her to work today, but i have to stop by home depot on the way home, and there's no way in hell i'm parking her in that lot.......

Dono last time I updated, here's the lastest addition after I got her runing. Quick and dirty vid with funy accent included.  :P That was last week, since I buffed the paint so she's all shiny. Rebuilding the carbs today, then will drive her around till warmer weather so I can take her all appart rebuild/improve and blow the engine up on the first track day of the season.

I will answer for him . They do good . I am on my 2nd set . When I am running up and down the hwy I take my front ones off to keep from wearing them out so fast . I run two set's for the trail and for up and down the hwy .

They last really well  I've got 20k on them already and they still look new  I have put BFG's on my pickups since I was in high school  I used to run the AT's before they came out  with the MT's !
