Yep, Taylor jet boats used a lot of ford big blocks Fords. You never had to worry about chopping anyone up in a jet, but pulling ski ropes out of a jet was a squeak, and if it got wound up tight, it would bend the prop drive shaft. If you put them in reverse in less in 4 feet of water or so, they would get a rock caught up in the impeller. You needed to keep a handy foot long flat head screw driver to dislodge it.
