Maybe I'm in the minority, but when I'm in a fighter I use a combination of hat views and a mouse to pan around and it seems to work well.

I don't use the mouse views, but I am a rabid hat switcher!

Just reduce your profile in the TR control panel to yaw and pitch to start with. You can Ctrl_F5 to turn off TR in the game so you can tweek your head positions and save them. Ctrl_F1 will turn TR back on. That will reduce the amount of motion you need to have views or some of the vertigo some people initially experience.

I had a room mate years ago who would throw up after 15 minutes of walking down halls in the old Doom game.

Keyboard views FTW!

Welcome back Flyboy!
Do make good use of the 3 auto- trim options we have:

Auto- level - will do exactly what you expect it to do.

Auto-speed - sometimes called auto-climb but that is inaccurate to what it does. This will keep your wings level and your speed constant (set a custom speed with ".speed XXX"). If you have excess power you will climb, if not you will depend, but IAS will be constant.

Combat trim - trim you for level flight at the current speed assuming MIL power. Unlike auto- level, it will not bring you to a level flight, it will only change the trim to their theoretical level-flight position regardless of your current orientation.

The way I and many others use it is as a " quick trim". In the clipboard options set combat trim to OFF by default. Then when you want to trim in-flight, turn it ON manually (assign a toggle button) and then OFF again. Make fine trim adjustments manually as needed.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Is it really going to be called Aces High III? So it's goes Aces High > Aces High II > Aces High > Aces High III?

Great to see you back FlyBoy! lot of us have missed you

as Bozon recently posted regarding Trim:

This is how I've basically been doing it for years.... I just make sure I am flying straight, then quickly toggle it off ( There are a lot of threads about this in the help & training forum )

hope you start flying in KOTH again, sure could use your skills, heh!

Have A Good Day,

TC

thanks for the warm welcome!
will give the snapy combat trim a go

TC, i hope i will get there eventually but as things look now it will take some time  :D

and with that said, would love to do some 1vrs1 or wing up and fly together with anyone who would pick up the glove. i think thats the best way to speed up my learning
and its much more fun then flying solo in the MA looking for trouble

You'll be back to your ol' Badarse flying self soon enough...

shoot me a PM with what times you are able to log in and fly......

I know where you are, I am in the Eastern US time zone, so there is like a 4 to 6 hour time difference with you ahead of me.....

I'd be glad to work and wing with you

cheers,

TC

No one knows at this point. Hitech may even name it Fred. Wonder how many of you needed your parents to give you pre-presents in the 24 days leading up to Christmas...... :O
