look at the default b17g skin wing as an example.

no bands though just sky above.

its obvious once you see it or think about it. in level flight the reflections on the top of the wing from almost any angle will be the sky above only.

try to paint a landscape on your fuselage and paint the sky above on the top wings and top of fuselage and the ground below on the underside of the wings and fuselage.

I did what you suggested copied pasted a real metal plane over the bitmap......your right it gives me a new perspective on what the metal really looks like...so I will be working on redoing the metal layer....

I gotta say this skinning is not easy...not as bad as map making...but damn there is a lot to it.... :rofl
I am so new I find myself completely clue less as to how to make something look right...

I appreciate all the input guys thanx :salute

your work is getting better  :aok your camera work, not so much  :noid

the dark square (?) is probably related to some sort of reflective bits, and lighting perhaps? seems to be kind of due to the intake... what's the top of intake look like? could that be part of it?

I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Looks great Ink.
Although in my opinion there shouldnt be nearly as much dirt under the nose.
Another thing, the markings don't appear very crisp. Are you displaying in HiRes?

 :rofl

the dark part is an area that the model stretches to fit....
here you can see the yellow square with the two half zero's....see how much bigger they are then the rest...this is that dark spot, and then you can see the pink in front of the yellow is the right gear mirrored from the top on the BMP....strange way to uv map it.
