How commander's position works.
« on: September 21, 2011, 06:39:55 PM »
I would like to see the main gun on tanks not always slaved to the commander's sight. Have the commander's sight independent from the gun unless a trigger is held down. That way the gun can remain where it needs to be pointed while the commander is scanning and if you see something of interest you click and the gun starts moving onto target. Small tweek but I think it better matches what would happen between a tank commander and gunner. This is a non issue for most tanks with pintle guns but for those without (t-34) it is something that would be an improvement.

Why not just turn your head like you do in a fighter? With a hat switch or something like that.

Certainly there is a way to map the head look to some keys on your board then.

Should be on the numpad by default, even in GV's iirc.

it's called a 10key pad.  because it had 10 keys. 0 thru 9.  numpad is what you use when you want to play with your iphone or your ipod.

Mine is custom and has an 11 key.  It activates my cloaking device.  This is the only key that activates my cloaking device.  If you do not have an 11 key you cannot activate my cloaking device.

so what key do you push if there is no 10?

and, fyi it's called a numeric keypad a.k.a. numpad...not 10 key pad.
