First let me stat I'm not an AvA regular by any means, only come in from time to time. Sometimes things are good sometimes not. Last Jet week was bad, last time I took the squad in, was good.
Bat, The first encounter, I would have done the same. He turned into you and never did try to extend, even when there were a few outs. If I'm outa ammo and get a chance on an out, I'm out. Granted there are times where the fight is uneven and you can't get an out with no ammo, (the time I parked my no ammo A20 behind a 190 A5, becouse it was the safest place
), but this wasn't the case. The vulch at the end was lame, if he wanted a fight he could have let you reup as he circled away from the field.
I think the positive note here is, hang on let me put on my trainer cap. When engaging a con from the rear or other position of nose away, where they have to break into you to start a fight, and you have a superior E-state. Why try to follow their break turn low into you? If he's breaking low and you have more speed our alt or both, why not simply pull up into a high YO YO, reaquire and repounce from a higher alt position as he turns below you burning E. When you follow you are falling into a trap, that Bat knows very well, you with higher speed will be forced to the outside of his turn if you try to follow. Basically he's forcing an overshoot, without you realizing it's happening. A spit can't bleed speed nearly as well as a 109. Once he has you forced outside of his turn enough, it's a simple barrel roll toward your aircraft to finish the overshoot. If your lucky, you slowed down enough that you may be in a disadvantaged rolling scissors, and may yet be able to get the fight possibly back to neutral. So remember this as a rule of thumb, Low defensive break should be countered with a high offensive break.
