You and everyone else in the furball. You would think the 38 is a perk plane as everyone seems to break off what they are doing to kill the 38. One day I hope to be good enough in it to become a SAPP member.

38's are NOT ez-mode.  Since I am the official decider, let it be etched in a great stone.

If it had an Mk-108 then you'd be able to aim better in it.

I could aim fine in it when I used to fly it.  The roll rate is what I struggle most with in it.  :joystick:

and has relatively low ammo count for a yank plane.

Huh? not even close, with 2000 rounds for the machine guns and an additional 150 rounds for the 20mm cannon, the P-38 ammo count isn't considered low by any stretch of the imagination, even for an American plane.  In fact, the P-38's armament is probably one of the most lethal gun packages for an American plane.

I rejoice when I find a P38 when I'm in a 110 with less than 75% fuel and slight altitude advantage.

Why?  If the P-38 driver is any good the Bf 110 is dead unless the Lightning driver royally screws the pooch.

If you fly the P-38 as purely a BnZ plane and only engage in fights with low risk then it is a very easy plane to fly.

I always enjoy a knife fight against a well flown 38 in a k4. Great fun to get into a rolling scissors against. What ack-ack says is prob true for just about any plane that has decent guns and can fly fast.

My question here is more the lack of any assist or kill message.  I thought if someone disco's within close range of you, you get the kill / assist message.  But I don't know exactly how this is handle so am probably wrong. :headscratch:

Seems like if you disco after being hit, you shouldn't escape free and clear.

 :noid

If you alt+F4 out of the game it works like that.  If you are within range of someone that rage quits by hitting Alt+F4 then you'll get the proxy credit.  However, if the person is disconnected then they won't give out a kill credit if the host has not registered the kill yet.  For example, if you shoot off the wing of a Bf109K-4 and as it's plunging to the ground and is disconnected before the plane is actually destroyed then you won't get credit because the host hasn't registered the kill yet as the data packet hasn't been sent.  If the Bf109K-4 hits the ground and the death is registered and then is disconnected you will obviously get the kill credit.  Tested this a few years ago with Murdr after we both got to wondering about it.
