Planes disappearing without anyone getting a kill is nothing new. It happens now and then.

Wait...the P-38 is hard?

It is not particulary Hard but once One takes off the training wheels and steps away from the spitfire they should try out the 38 and learn what it takes to survive in a furball with a pork chop around your tail feathers.

You haven't flown the G enough yet then :)

I have a tougher time with the view from the J and L now.  Don't even notice it in the G.

Maybe if you actually turned on your monitor next flight......  :D

My complaint about the G is due to the huge plate of bullet proof glass hanging in front of my face constantly getting glare on it...  When lights at the right angle, the 38 is a dream to see out of.

I agree the view out of the 38 is pretty bad. I've gotten used to the other views but I gotta draw the line at not being able to see straight ahead tho! I stick with the J and L.

The canopy the J/L models actually bother me more than the G, I was constantly losing cons behind the canopy bars that surround the gun sight.

The 38G is a little annoying t first but I don't even notice it anymore.

When I fly the 38s i have no cons in front of me to look at. They're all behind me! So with the twinbooms I can see death coming better then any other plane in the game. The windscreen is the least of my worries  :cry

I believe you could use the help of some veteran 38 drivers who have the much spectulated about, but unknown flight manuver rummored to be used by a few, not prievy to this information as of yet I can only tell you what I know. It has something to do with asymmetrical throttling with simultaneous rudder, elevator and flap inputs. The name is also still hidden with the rest of information and direction on how it is performed.

Some of the members of the 80th and I believe those within SAPP have held this secret close, once again this is only conjecture from the rumor mills.

In a spit IX adding a quarter circle aileron to elevator combo will pull the dreaded flying tail first into the ground manuver.
