He's well known for doing horrible versions of songs. I'm sure he is well aware of it and capitalizing on it too.

On one episode of the Dad show he did Karaoke the "Too Sexy" song. It sounded terrible but was funny as........

For watching that horrid acting, I present.......Nimoy desprate for work

(Yes it blows, badly)

Nimoy can actually sing though, and pretty dang well.   He did 5 albums back in the Star Trek days of mostly folk rock covers that aren't too bad.

I still think Shatner's Rocket Man and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds covers are the best.  Back then he took it seriously, before he realized it was a joke to everyone else.  Now he knows it's a joke and rolls with it.

I think Lisa Lampanelli said it best: "When Elton John heard William Shatner sing 'Rocket Man,' he spit George Takei's dick out of his mouth."

Can't fault him for trying.  He's a great story teller.

I don't fault him at all.  I love that Shatner does that sort of stuff as a result of a quirky sense of humor and performance art.  Shatner is one of my favs. :)
